A Blessing for One Who Is Being Human
When you don’t know whether
to laugh or cry,
may you find a resting place
in between.
When everything
flashes “important,”
may you know the significance
of being still and being you.
When you wonder what disaster comes next,
may you take comfort, knowing
whatever it is,
- whatever it is -
you will not be alone.
When you’re deceived and disillusioned,
may your compass
guide you to One you can trust.
And when you sleep,
may God envelop you
in the peace known by those
who are protected.
In the name of God who watches,
Christ the embodied One,
and the Spirit who laughs and cries
with us.
Amen.
